Mr. Arthur Paul Theriault of Salem, NH, Age 96 passed peacefully on October 13, 2020 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH.   He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.

Born in South Lawrence, Mass. on July 24, 1924; the son of the late Albert and Ida (Houde) Theriault.  Mr. Theriault grew up in Lawrence Massachusetts where he attended school and worked many jobs that taught him to be the skilled contractor that carried him through his life.   He obtained an Industrial Trade Degree in Construction and Machinery after serving in the Navy.  He worked 5 years on the B and M Railroad.  He went on to build and construct not only his own home for his family but several more homes on a nearby street, which would ultimately be named after him, as Theriault Ave. in Salem, NH.

He worked as a Building Superintendent for over 40 years, his last years being at Andrea Management in Lawrence, Massachusetts.

He was a veteran of the US Navy during WW11, proudly serving as a gunner aboard the U.S.S. James M. Gillis.  He was awarded the World War 11 Victory Medal, the American Theatre Medal, the Asiatic-Pacific Area Medal and the European-Middle Eastern-African Area Medal. His love for the sea remained with him.  He enjoyed many happy years boating and fishing and began taking cruises with his wife Blanche and family and friends to parts of the world he wanted to visit.

His interests and hobbies in his later years were working out in the yard, engine and machine repair, watching Westerns on tv, playing Solitaire and spending time with his fur friend Ruby. They were an inseparable pair.   He was fortunate to have the loving companionship of Paulene Gene and her family for over 15 years.  They went on cruises and trips and many family events.  One of his greatest enjoyments was 5pm Happy Hour on Friday nights complete with Southern Comfort Manhattans and his own custom Hors d’ oeuvres.

He had a strong Catholic faith and loved to attend regular Sunday Mass at Warde Health Center in Windham, NH.
