Albert Azorian Obituary

Albert George Azorian – Salem, NH

Albert George Azorian of Salem, NH, passed away on January 15, 2021, at the age of 85. He passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 30, 1935, in Lawrence, MA, to George and Sadie (Palombo) Azorian. Al grew up on Elm Street in Lawrence, MA. Al graduated from Lowell Technical Institute.  He worked for Raytheon as a Logistics Manager and retired in 1995 with 35 years of service.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged.

Al met the love of his life, Marie, at McGovern’s Drive-In on a blind date; they married at St. Clement Church in Somerville, MA and celebrated 59 blessed years together. He loved to sing and was a member of the barbershop quartet.  In his spare time, he was an avid woodworker and craftsman. He built furniture and cabinets for his family who still have a treasured piece (or two) that was especially crafted by him. Al loved going to the beach and vacationing in Hilton Head, SC, and Venice, FL, where he made many friends who he considered his extended family. Al was considered the “Mayor” of Circle “Q” in Circle Woods of Venice, FL and would sit under the carport enjoying the breeze and a drink or two and of course a cigar with his friends. He loved going out to breakfast weekly with his friends.  You could find him enjoying a round of golf whenever he had the chance. Family gatherings filled with Syrian and Italian food were Al’s favorite way to celebrate a special occasion. Al’s favorite love were his grandchildren and great- grandchildren whom he loved to be surrounded by. You could always find him at any of their games and events to cheer them on.  He was so very proud of each and every one of them. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Al was predeceased by his loving wife Marie and is survived by his four children; his daughter Laura McCarthy (husband Kevin) of Salem, NH, his son Kenneth Azorian of Merrimack, NH, daughter Karen Foden (husband Bill) of Derry, NH and daughter Diane Coryea (husband Mark) of Atkinson, NH, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Walter and Joan Wolonsavich of Stoneham, MA and sister-in-law Peggy (Anthony predeceased) Tassinari of Tewksbury, MA. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren, Derek (Jennifer) McCarthy, Nichole McCarthy, Marie Foden, Kristina (Andrew) Foden, Matthew Foden, Madalyn (Wesley) Coryea, Joshua Coryea, Tyler McCarthy, Samantha Coryea, Andrew Azorian, Nicholas Azorian, his 2 step-grandchildren, Erin Rogers (husband) Dave, and William Foden Jr.  and his 5 great-grandchildren, Anthony Foden, Jordan Gibson, Kiarra Gibson, Gianna McCarthy and Kayleigh McCarthy.
