Alan J. Daigneault passed away surrounded by his family at Lawrence General Hospital June 10, 2022. Born in Lawrence MA, October 6, 1944, he was the son of Peter J. and Irma H. (Brackner) Daigneault.
Growing up in South Lawrence, Alan enjoyed swimming at the Allicon pool in addition to playing sports and coasting behind the “Wetherbee”. He did a super job pitching for the Little League South Lawrence Phillies.
After graduation from Lawrence High he fullfilled his military obligation in the U.S. Army. A blind date began a courtship involving trips to Canada and lots of letter writing at the kitchen table. She said oui and he wed Pauline Thibault of La Baie, PQ, Canada on October 3, 1970. Most years of married life were spent in Salem NH. Following years of mainly foundry work as a molder, including many in Davis & Furber, he retired from Crown Cork and Seal in 2009.
Alan’s hobbies were hunting and fishing which morphed into target shooting in later years as a member of the Pelham Fish and Game Club. A fishing trip requiring float plane only access to a lake in Quebec was a sporting highlight. As was a trip to northern NH that provided a handsome hallway trophy viewed for years. The best times in retirement involved his grandchildren far and near.
In addition to wife Pauline, Alan’s survivors are son Dale, his wife Lori and their children Jessica and Conor of Bellevue, NE, daughter Janik Hayes (nee Daigneault), her husband Edward J. and their children Edward (Joey), Owen, Sarah and Maeve of Atkinson, NH, brother Werner and wife Pam of East Hampstead, NH, many nieces and nephews in the USA and Canada. In addition to parents, he was predeceased by sister Joanna Janke and her husband Howard.
Alan was very proud of his family and loved them beyond all else.
