Shirley E. LeGendre, 88, of Salem passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital.

The daughter of Albert and Nellie (Liversidge) Gidley, Shirley is survived by her husband, Robert LeGendre, daughters Barbara Reardon and husband William, and Eileen Arnold and husband David, 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, including her granddaughter Kim Raadmae who was her caretaker during the last year of her life. She is predeceased by her brother, Albert (Sonny) Gidley, and her sister, Dorothy Hale.
 
Shirley grew up in Lawrence, Mass and worked many years for her brother at Salem Trailer Sales. She enjoyed going to the beach for Tripoli pizza, spending time with her family, reading magazines and looking through recipes, and cruising to Bermuda with her husband on several occasions. 

We would like to thank the ICU nurses at Lawrence General Hospital for the care and compassion given during her recent illness.
