Ronald “Ronny” Thomas Layden, 65 passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long illness. He was the beloved son of the late, Patrick H. Layden Sr. and Catherine S (McFadden) Layden.  Ronnie grew up in Newton and Brighton and was a graduate of Brighton High School.  After serving in The United States Air Force, he returned to his hometown where he had many colorful Jobs as Cab driver, Bartender, Building Maintenance, and later operating his own business until his illness prevented him from working. Ronny was predeceased by his brothers, Patrick “Harry” Layden Jr, and James “Jimmy” E Layden, and his sister, Kathleen “Chickie” Arlock. He leaves behind his beloved sisters-in-law, Patricia “Patty” Layden of Salem NH, Muriel Layden of Marlborough and brother-in-law, James “Jimmy” Arlock of East Bridgewater. He is survived by and his sense of humor which has been passed on to his favorite nephew, Thomas M. Layden and wife, Amy of Apopka, FL, his favorite niece, Joni Layden McCarthy and her husband, Kevin of Salem, NH, Patricia A. Layden of Marlborough, also a favorite, his favorite niece, Stacy L. Rousseau and Husband, Chris of Randolph, MA, Dana Arlock, also a favorite of East Bridgewater, MA, also his favorite niece and Godchild, Charity Layden Murray and her husband, Kris of Salem, NH and Faith Layden of Salem, NH also a favorite. He also took great pride in his many great nieces and great nephews, Sean Cronin of Marlborough, Airman Ryan J. Waldron serving in Anchorage, AK, Tommy, Mathew, Justin and Chase Layden of Apopka, FL, Jamie and Felicia Layden of Salem, NH as well as Avery Santiago, Bryce & Kylee Inoa all of Salem, NH. Ronny also leaves behind many cousins and shared a special bond with Marylou Carney and her husband, Frank of Billerica, MA Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 3 to 5 pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.
