Roberta Ann (Alexander) Kelly died peacefully on August 18, 2017 surrounded by family and loved ones.  She was the wife of the late Edward L. Kelly, and mother of the late Denise Kelly. 

Born in East Boston, MA as one of eight children, Roberta learned early the value of family and instilled a strong appreciation in each of her own children. She is survived by four children - Donnamarie Kelly (Salem, NH), Karen Kelly Morgan and husband LeGrand (Wakefield, MA), Edward Kelly and wife Heather (Portsmouth, NH) and Patricia Buckley and husband John (New Haven, CT), twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Roberta was a warm, caring woman with an engaging and energetic love of life. She enjoyed camping, boating, swimming, gardening and the Arts, but mostly sharing holidays and celebrations with family. She was a life member of Jubilee Yacht Club, a passionate all around sports fan and was loyal to her Boston teams, especially her Red Sox.  An active 87-year-old, she frequently travelled to visit or vacation with family.  Shortly before her passing she vacationed with family at Saratoga enthusiastically sharing her experiences poolside with her dear friends at Kensington Place. 

For those who would like to join the family in celebrating Roberta’s life, calling hours will be held Wednesday, August 23rd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH with a funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH at 10:00 AM on Thursday August 24th. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to two institutions close to Roberta’s heart; St. Thomas Aquinas School (3 Moody St. Derry, NH 03038) or Salem NH Field of Dreams (PO Box 2334, Salem, NH 03079).
