Michelle Anne Benard-Ackerman, age 50, of Salem, NH passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Holy Family Hospital. She was born to Mary Jane Pike and the late David Benard on December 5, 1966. Michelle was born and grew up in Haverhill where she attended Haverhill High School and Northern Essex Community College where she studied to become a Registered Nurse. 

Michelle was a woman of faith who enjoyed her morning coffee and time alone with God. She loved to read and wrote beautiful poetry that she hoped to one day have published. She was most happy while spending time with family and friends. 

Michelle is survived by her husband, Richard Ackerman; her children, Jennifer Benard, Matthew Benard and Zachary Ackerman. She also leaves her step father, David Pike and her sisters, Lisa Pike and Laura Pike as well as her brothers, Christopher Pike and Bryan Pike and many nieces, nephews and close friends. 

Family and friends are invited to visitation on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 9 am to 10 am at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.  A funeral service will be at 10:30 am in St. Joseph Church, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.  Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.  To leave an online condolence, please go to www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com.
