John "Jack" Duhamel Sr., age 86, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2019 due to heart complications. He was born in Lawrence, MA., on March 6, 1933 to the late Aurel and Rose Duhamel. Jack was a Korean war veteran followed by a 40 year career at the Granite State Electric Company. Jack was a devoted husband for over 60 years to Mary A. (Wadlinger) Duhamel (Who passed away January, 2018) and a fantastic father to his four children, He was a gentleman to the core and was highly respected by all that knew him. During his working career he often worked a second job to provide even more for his family. One of his second jobs was a volunteer policeman at the Salem Police Department in which he proudly stated he never loaded his gun in his entire involvement with the Police Department. Jack and Mary traveled the US and abroad but never uprooted from their home in Salem, NH. Jack will be deeply missed by many, many people he touched throughout his life.
He is survived by his children and spouses, Sharon and Loren Broady, Jay and Genia Duhamel, Kathy and Dan Cvelbar, Mark and Joan Duhamel; his brother Edward Duhamel; 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Rosemary Duhamel.
A memorial gathering will begin on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 2 to 5 PM at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH. with a short service to begin at 5 PM.
