Donald C. Kelley

Donald passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2018, with his family by his side holding his hand. He was welcomed home by his wife and daughter with loving open arms.

Don was born in Malden, Massachusetts to Arthur and Helen Kelley. He was a Korean War veteran and served his country from 1948 to 1951. After leaving the Army, he became a truck driver for the state of Massachusetts until his retirement in 1983. After retirement, he enjoyed time with his wife and grandchildren. He also took great pride in being a jack of all trade. He was best known for playing Santa for all the family holiday parties.

Donald is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Helen, his wife and best friend, Laura A. Kelley (MacCaulay), and his daughter, Jane A. Nical (Kelley).

He leaves behind 2 sons, Scott Kelley of Lebanon, ME, and Kenneth Kelley and his wife Anita of Raymond, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who he was very proud of; They include Christine Kelley and her fiancée John McCarthy and their two children Cameron and James, Dawn Whiteside (Kelley) and her husband Matthew Whiteside and their two children Laura and Lucas, Anna Kelley and her wife Rae-Lynn, Ryan Kelley, Zachary Nical, Tyle Nical and his fiancée Jessica Boucher, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 10:30 am at the funeral home. A celebration of life will begin at 10:30 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem.
