Welcome to the memorial page for

Clara Kantsos

January 2, 2018

Clara Kantsos of Windham, New Hampshire, died peacefully at Warde Rehab and Nursing Facility on January 2, 2018. Born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to parents John J. and Anne McNeil (deceased), Clara was the second eldest of a family of five; her sister Jean (deceased), her brother Neil (deceased), her sisters, Sister Anne Veronica, SC and Jacqueline McNeil. Loving wife of Peter Kantsos (deceased), Clara was also a caring aunt to Stephen and Neil McNeil, Karen McNeil Kelly, four grand nieces, Meghan and Cara, Jenna and Jackie, and grandnephew, John, as well as to her extended family of close cousins.

From an early age, Clara showed a special talent for singing, which she consistently displayed throughout her school years in musicals and plays. After high school, along with professional training in voice, Clara pursued a teaching career and generously used her singing talent, not only with her students in music festivals, but in faithfully directing the church choir in her home parish. Clara later went on to study the harp and accompanied herself as she sang multiple times at St. Monica’s in Methuen, MA. During these years Clara also played and sang at Nevins Nursing Home, preparing booklets of lyrics in large print for the senior residents who eagerly looked forward to and enjoyed her regular visits there. Even as a resident at the Warde, Clara continued to joyfully sing along with others until her health declined.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Mercy Chapel at the Warde, Searles Road, Windham, NH at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
