We are often asked about the sculpture that is prominently featured on our campus, and the meaning behind it.

Here are a few insights that we have personally equated with the creative adornment.

Created by local sculptor Dale Rogers, the artwork depicts the greatest themes in our profession. 

As it appears, it is three trees growing in close proximity, a cardinal alighted in its lofty branches. The symbolism embodied within these figures is that of the Holy Trinity, the three circles intertwined revealing the interconnected relationship of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

In addition, the trees themselves denote our very motto, which serves as a reminder to those who pass through our doors, which is we are here to assist before, during, and after a loss.  Finally, the cardinal hearkens back to the old saying, “when a cardinal appears, a loved one is near”. 

In combination, these elements provide a practical and visual reminder that we, as family and friends, servants and pillars within our communities alike, all share the same sense of grief and have within us the ability to rise above it, knowing our loved ones are cared for.
