Robert C. Hartford

Robert C. Hartford, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, March 5th in Hudson, NH. He was born on June 1, 1954 in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania to Charles Hartford and Barbara Pinkham-Hartford (both deceased).  He was the third of their four boys.

Bob was a beloved husband, father, papa and uncle, cherished by his family and friends.  He will be remembered for his selflessness, kindness, generosity, his wonderful sense of humor and his hugs.  He was an avid Boston sports fan, never missing a Patriots game.  He loved classic rock and classic muscle cars. 

Though he had been battling Parkinson’s Disease for the last 12-plus years, he did not let that keep him from being a beacon of positivity to those around him. 

In a decades long career spent as a Semiconductor Layout Designer, he worked for several companies, including Digital Equipment Corporation, Analog Devices, National Semiconductor and Skyworks.

He is predeceased by his wife Susan, whom he wedded on August 7, 1976. They were married for 45 loving years. She was the love of his life.  Together, they were a shining example of love and commitment. 

He leaves behind his kids, Jason Hartford and his wife Tracey, Jeffrey Hartford and his wife Michelle, and Jonathan Hartford and his wife Lauren. He will also forever live on in his grandchildren, Kaylee, Grace, Jacob and Jaxon.

He is survived by older brothers Charles Hartford and Jonathan Hartford, and preceded in death by younger brother Christopher Hartford.

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom he adored and cared for deeply.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, March 16th from 9:00am-11:00am at Goundrey Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am in the funeral home. Burial will be private this spring in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the staff at the Fairview Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing facility in Hudson, NH for their care and support for Bob these last several years.
