Wanda Virginia Nolet, 93 of Salem, NH passed away peacefully in her sleep at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 9:53pm.  My sister, Karen and myself were privileged to be at her side when she left us and joined her husband, Lionel J. “Buddy” Nolet and other family members who preceded her in death.  With Buddy’s 30 year stint in The US Navy, Mom was able to join him at several duty stations in Europe even allowing him and Mom to bring Grandma, Kate (Mom’s mother) to Scotland.  Mom was so excited to be able to share the trip with her mother and Buddy.  Back home when Buddy took an extra job flying Cessna’s, Mom decided to give it a try in the early 1970’s and started flight school training and logged in numerous hours of flight time.  Buddy retired and he and Mom began the work of building their dream home with the addition of 3 grandsons.  Unfortunately, in the early 1980’s, Mom lost Buddy to cancer.  She also lost her home.  Sometime later, she landed a job with Lucent Technologies and maintained her position for approximately 10-15 years and had to retire on a disability.  Also the company discovered her real age, late 70’s or early 80’s.  See Mom knew she could do the job but they would not hire her because of her age.  This is a woman who loving is referred to by my family as the “General.”  There is so much more to this lady, but we will save the rest for us.
