Roger “Tyke” Joseph Michaud, 70, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday August 21, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston surrounded by his family.

Roger was born in Lawrence on July 7, 1947, the son of the late Lucien Michaud and Cecile (Dion) Michaud. He attended Central Catholic High School in Lawrence and worked as a brewmaster for Anheuser Busch in Merrimack, NH for 30 years.

Roger was predeceased by his brothers Richard Michaud of Tiverton, RI, and Raymond Michaud of Lawrence, MA.  He is survived by his children, son Robert Michaud and his wife Linda of Barnstead, NH, son Daniel Michaud and his wife Shelley of Salem, NH, and daughter Elizabeth Michaud of Salisbury, MA, as well as his ex-wife Maureen Winslow and her husband Craig of Salisbury, MA, grandchildren Ryan, Will, Cameron, and Emma, and canine pals Marley, Schooner, Bauer, and Charlie.

The world has lost much more than just a juggling aficionado. Roger’s accolades are impressive, to say the least. Before he was even born, he had stormed the beach at Normandy. By the time he was a teenager, Roger had not only seen where Jimmy Hoffa’s body had been buried, but had dug it up and moved it somewhere else. He walked on the moon, had a Budweiser on the deck of the Titanic, and ran with the bulls so fiercely that the bulls turned around and went home. He quite literally put the bomp in the bomp-she-bomp-she-bomp.

Perhaps none of that last paragraph is true; only Roger knows for sure. What we can verify for certain is that those who knew him will sorely miss his company, his love, and his humor.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 27 from 2-5 p.m. at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.  A brief memorial service to celebrate Roger’s life will take place at the funeral home immediately following calling hours.
