Richard E. Ricker, Sr., 82 of Haverhill, MA passed away on Monday May 29, 2017 at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Bradford, MA. Richard was born and raised in Haverhill MA, he attended Haverhill High School, Haverhill Trade School and served in the US Navy as a Navy medic during the Korean War. Richard worked as a Union Iron Worker, then in his retirement worked at Meals on Wheels and volunteered at Northern Essex Elder Transport. Richard was a past member of the Haverhill VFW, the Arlington Club and the Elks in Lawrence. He had a passion for dancing of all types. He was a tap dancer as a young child and then joined the Andover Sunset Tappers at age 74. He was a sports fanatic following his grandchildren when they played sports at the high school and college levels. He followed all of the New England sports teams and also really enjoyed horse racing. Richard was happily married to and deeply in love with his wife Kay just short of 59 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Kay, his daughter Debbie Stoodley and her husband Raymond of Salem, daughter, Linda Roy and her husband Thomas of Matthews, NC, sons Stanley Ricker and Richard Ricker Jr of Haverhill and daughter Cynthia Ricker of Raymond, NH. He also leaves his twelve grandchildren Kara Smith and her husband Jeremiah,  Briana Roy,  Benjamin Roy,  Stanley Ricker Jr. , Caliegh Ricker,  Ashley Huelsman and her husband Jay, Bethany Stoodley and her fiance’ Matthew Foroughi, Casey Stoodley, Danielle Stoodley, Shawn Stoodley, William Young and Robert Young.  He also leaves behind his great grandchildren Liam Smith and Lorelei Smith. 

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 Pm at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079.
