Richard Louis Dulong, 76, formerly of Andover and Methuen died on June 13, 2016 at the Elaine Center, Hadley, MA.  Richard was the eldest son of Richard A. and Marion A. (Ormsby) Dulong, both deceased. Richard had serious health issues which slowly forced him to be house bound. His interests though, never wavered. Fascinated as a young man by the stars and science he was constantly reading and could talk for hours on his favorite subjects.  Seeing friends, travel with family and fishing gave him great pleasure. Richard believed in taking care of himself and did as best he could until forced to move into a convalescent home in North Reading. He was a kind soul with a big heart.

He leaves two brothers, David I. and wife Marion of West Hatfield and North Fort Meyers, Florida, Alan R. of Sandy, Utah and sister Sandra J. and husband Allen Ober of The Villages, Florida, along with five nephews and nieces, nine grandnephews and nieces and one great-nephew.     

Funeral services were under the direction of The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.  Family and friends came together to say good-bye to Richard at 9:30 on June 18, 2016 then attended a Funeral Mass at St. Monica's Catholic Church followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
