Odilia S. Pereira, 83, passed away peacefully at Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, NH, on May 8, 2017. Widow of Manuel C. Pereira who also passed away at Salem Haven in 2011. She was born in Ajuda Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores. After marrying and having five children, they decided on moving to the U.S. for a better life. They landed in Fall River, MA, where she worked in the Fall River Knitting Mills. She then retired to Salem, NH, where she loved to garden and cook for her family.

She is survived by; her daughter Marylou Medeiros and her husband Carlos of Salem, NH; her son Manuel Pereira and his wife Aida of Sao Miguel, Azores; daughter Virginia Furtado and her husband Henry of Toronto, Canada; daughter Fatima Viveiros and her husband Joe of Fall River, MA; and her two living brothers, Evaristo Correira and Joao Correira of Sao Miguel, Azores. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Veronica and Priscilla Medeiros, Janice, Patricia and Linda Furtado, Jessica and Kyle Viveiros, and Pedro Pereira; and her four great-grandchildren: Phillip Furtado Alves, Bianca Furtado Alves, Aaron Joseph Viveiros, and Joao Pedro Pereira.

Family and friends are invite to calling hours on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the chapel at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH 03079. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH 03079. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
