Mary Anne (Wadlinger) Duhamel

Mary passed away in her sleep on January 20, 2018.

She was born in Lawrence, MA, on September 2, 1933, to the late John and Beatrice Wadlinger.  Mary was a Registered Nurse at the Bon Secours/Holy Family Hospital for 40 years.  She literally touched thousands of lives as she tended to the newborn children of so many in this community.  She was so well respected at the hospital, the flag was flown at half mast in her honor upon passing.  Mary was a beautiful active lady and lived life to the fullest.  She was a devoted wife to John Duhamel for over 60 years.  Together they traveled the US and abroad but never uprooted from their home in Salem, NH.  Mary was completely devoted to helping others her whole life.  From newborn babies in distress, to neighbors, to friends, and to family, anyone could count on her to be there if needed.  She would light up a dark room just by walking in.
 
She is survived by her husband, Jack Duhamel; her children and spouses, Sharon and Loren Broady, Jay and Genia Duhamel, Kathy and Dan Cvelbar, Mark and Joan Duhamel; her brothers and spouses, Joe and Claire Wadlinger, Ralph Wadlinger and Linda Higgins; sister-in-law, Rosemary Duhamel; brother-in-law, Edward Duhamel; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
 
A memorial gathering will begin on January 27, 2018 at Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH, at 2PM.  After a short service starting at 5PM a reception will be held at Brookstone Park, 14 Route 111, Derry, NH.
 
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor, to the Holy Family Hospital may be made if desired.
