Marcia E. Blake, 68, of Derry, NH, passed away April 1, 2015, at the Arbor of Bedford after a long illness.

Marcia was born in Portland, ME, on September 24, 1946, to the late Walter and Evelyn (Gilpatrick) Blake. She attended Woodbury High School in Salem, NH, and later graduated from the University of New Hampshire in Manchester.

Marcia worked for NE Telephone for 35 years before her retirement. After retiring, Marcia continued to work, spending 5 years at Anthem in Manchester and the last 4 years at Canobie Lake Park in Salem. When she was not working, Marcia volunteered her time calling Bingo at local halls.

Marcia leaves behind her sister, Ruth Ann Blake of Derry, NH. She also leaves two paternal cousins, Debbie Marston and Cindy Chessey, of Maine; and one maternal aunt, Madalyn Gamache and her son, Ralph Gamache, of Maine.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Marcia’s name to the Alzheimer’s Foundation  of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.

Friends and loved ones are invited to call on Wednesday, April 8, from 3:00-6:00pm at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service is scheduled to follow calling hours at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel. A graveside service will be held the following day, Thursday, April 9, at 11:00am at the Forest Hill Cemetery, 47 East Derry Rd., Derry, NH.
