Madeleine E. Carano, 84, of Salem, NH passed away on Saturday  November 19, 2016 at Lahey Hospital, Burlington following a long illness with Lewy Body Dementia.  Mrs  Carano was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and was a 1950 graduate of Boardman High School.  She has lived in Salem since 1998.  Madeleine was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a wonderful homemaker and kept a meticulous home.  She took pride in everything she did and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Her family members include her beloved husband of 64 years, Donald Carano and her daughters, Lori and her husband, Christopher Dow and Lane Carano.  She also leaves her sons, Michael and his wife, Barbara Carano, Jeff and his wife, Kathy Carano and Patrick Carano.  Madeleine has 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was the daughter of the late, Rocco and Elizabeth Lombardo and was also predeceased by her daughter, Lynn Carano and her sister, Delores Theis.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday November 29, 2016 from 5pm to 8pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH.  A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday November 30 at 11:00 am in St. Patrick Church, 118 S. Broadway, Lawrence, MA.  Entombment will be in St. Mary Immaculate Conception Cemetery  Mausoleum .  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN., 38105.  To send an online condolence, please go to www.goundreydewhirstfuneral.com.
