On Sunday, December 31, 2017, Kristin Thunstrom, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly at the age of 37 years. She will be forever remembered by her mother, Eileen Thunstrom; her sisters and brothers-in-law Trish and Jim Chaput; Cheri Thunstrom and Tim Harrington; her nephews, Nathan, Ryan and Russell; her boyfriend, Brett Dufault, as well as extended family and friends.

Kristin was preceded in death by her father, Carl Thunstrom.

Kristin studied Chemical Engineering at Tufts University, and then went on to major in Math at Westminster College in Utah. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Oregon, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelors degree in Economics and Mathematics, and was initiated into the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She obtained her certificate as an EMT and at the time of her death was pursuing studies in the medical field.

She was a food and wine enthusiast, loved traveling, and enjoyed multiple sports. Most recently she was a rock climbing instructor, soccer referee/coach and a math and economics tutor. She was accomplished as a rated pilot, having earned several certificates including commercial multi-engine, aerobatic and tail wheel endorsement.

Kristin was a very private person, but those who knew her knew she was a very kind, sensitive and caring person.

Calling hours will be held at Goundry & Dewhirst Funeral Home in Salem, NH on Thursday, January 11th from 10:00am – 12:00pm.

Kristin loved animals and will be dearly missed by her two cats, Carbon and Puma. Memorial donations in memory of Kristin may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
