Joseph J Denahey, 73 of Hampstead, NH and Naples, FL died Tuesday at Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a battle with cancer.
 
Born in Lynn, MA on August 22, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Connor) Denahey and brother to the late Ronald Denahey.  He was a graduate of St. John's Prep, received a bachelor's degree from Villanova University in Chemical Engineering and a master's degree from Webster College in Business.
 
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Claire (McGunigle) Denahey of Hampstead, NH and his daughter, Tara and her husband, James Dionne.  He was the proud Grand Pa to Regan and Donovan Dionne.  Joe also leaves his sister-in-law Ann Hancock and her husband Allen, brother-in-law Robert Shone, several nieces and nephews and extended family.
 
Joe worked for General Electric, Beatrice Chemical and retired from Bostik Findley in Middleton, MA as a Procurement Manager.
 
Joseph enjoyed golfing and was a Haverhill Country Club member for many years as well as a Glades Country Club member in Naples, FL.  He was an avid New England Sports fan especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
 
Calling hours will be on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 5-7 PM at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH.  A funeral mass will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11 AM in St. Anne Parish, 26 Emerson Ave, Hampstead, NH.  A Spring burial will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery, Hampstead.
