Edward “Eddie” Salem, 87 of Salem, NH passed away on Monday March 27, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Bedford, MA. Mr. Salem was born and raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School and also attended Merrimack College. Before retirement, Eddie worked as a technician at Sylvania and Honeywell-Bull Companies. He served with The US Army during The Korean War and was a recipient of The Purple Heart. He was a life member of The YMCA and was an avid racquet Ball player and horseracing fan. Eddie loved his visits to Rockingham Park and was happiest on his trips to Salisbury Beach.

The widower of Joyce Salem his family members include his sisters, Lillian and her husband, J.W. Boyd of Charleston, SC and Roselle Theriault of Windham, NH. as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen DiGenti and Louise Snay.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Monday April 3, 2017 from 4 to 8 pm at The Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main Street, Salem, NH. A Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday April 4 at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph Church, Salem, NH. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Methuen.
