After raising her children, she worked and retired at Lucent Technologies.  Dorothy was an avid gardener and an active member of the Salem Garden Club.  She also enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.

A private burial service was held in Windham on Wednesday, November 4, at The Cemetery on the Plain, where her family bid their final farewell to a beloved matriarch of a close and loving family.
