Deborah “Debbie” Gautschi died peacefully on Tuesday August 9, 2016 after a severe stroke. Debbie was a woman of many talents and much kindness who had a memorable life on three continents. Born in Pennsylvania, she went on to travel the world with her family, living in Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Brazil. In her youth she attended Winchester Thurston School and The Juilliard School for Music. She raised her three children in five countries, and she lived through many adventures including a coup d’état in Spain, being in a film with Peter Fonda and playing bridge with Omar Sharif. She spoke five languages, had an extraordinary singing voice, and an innate ability to comfort and entertain people. She was a loving mother, a beloved grandmother, and she was cherished by her husband, whom she spent 48 years of her life with. She will be remembered for her generosity, humor and her devotion to her family. She is survived by her husband, her three sons, and her four grandchildren.
