Arthur R. Dennis, 81, of Morgan, VT, passed away on June 6, 2017 in Newport, VT.  He was born on October 12, 1935 in Haverhill, MA to Charles and Melvina (Decareau) Dennis.  On November 5, 1977 he married Linda Bentley who survives him.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War.  Among his many hobbies he enjoyed fishing, fly tying, hunting, and loved the outdoors.  He was a cabinet maker, showed horses and was a New England pleasure driving Champion.  He was an avid skier including skiing Tuckerman’s Ravine, a volunteer fireman and managed horse shows in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and was also a heavy equipment operator. 

He is survived by his wife Linda Dennis of Morgan, VT, by his daughter Melinda Dennis and fiancé George Stathis, by his siblings: Melvin Dennis and his wife Donna and Frank Dennis and his wife Janice, by several nieces and nephews and by his dear friends Shawn Austin and his wife Kathy, Roy Wright and his wife Susan, Dan Bergeron and his wife Carol and by many other close friends that he and Linda had such a wonderful connection with.

He was predeceased by his first wife Jeannette and by his son Philip.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Goundrey & Dewhirst Funeral Home, 42 Main St., Salem, NH.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Haverhill, MA. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the North Country Hospital staff for providing exceptional care to Arthur.
